If you're a Ben Thomas Coaching client who's completed the INSYCD testing we'll use the INSCYD software to create your custom training plan. This software is which is widely known as the most advanced tool to analyze endurance performance in athletes.

HOW DOES THE INSCYD TEST DIFFER FROM A RAMP TEST / 20 MINUTE THRESHOLD POWER TEST / POWER PROFILE TEST IVE DONE WITH BEN THOMAS COACHING BEFORE?

Using our current software we can accurately take your test results to build a power profile to see strengths and weaknesses at neuromuscular to threshold power length intervals. We can use workout data to check aerobic efficiency over longer efforts. Using the information available we can accurately set the type of training you should be completing based on weaknesses and event specificity. We can be as specific as setting optimized interval durations and power targets unique to you. With INSCYD we can now set optimized power specific recovery steps by duration and power, set pacing strategies based on your personal energy metabolism, and create custom interval durations based on how you produce power. Custom high-intensity power zones are created from relevant high-intensity test efforts, rather than from a longer time trial test.

WHAT DOES THE TEST INVOLVE?

There's quite a lot of detail that goes into the INSCYD test but here is a very brief overview: 

(There are 4 tests): 

1. 20 second SEATED sprint.

2. 3 minute maximal effort.

3. 6 minute maximal effort.

4. 12 minute maximal effort.

The test is completed remotely either on the indoor trainer using Zwift or outside, using a downloadable structured workout. The efforts can either be completed all on one ride or we might decide to split the efforts onto two different days.
